The holidays are just around the corner and for many, preparations are in full swing. It would be very easy to cut back on your marketing efforts as you focus on other things. However, that could be a very poor business decision.
Why?
For one thing, it doesn’t look like the market is going to slow down much, and when people decide to sell their home in the middle of December, you want to be the one they call! Those who decide to wait until late winter/early spring are probably starting to make preparations. Be a source of help and knowledge now so that when they are ready to sell, you’re the one they go to.
What should I do to keep marketing?
Our simple 12 marketing plan gives you a simple strategy for staying top of mind with clients, while still having plenty of time to wrap all those gifts!
12 Holiday Marketing Plan
Week #1
Tuesday November 10 – Mail or email a market update. Let people know homes are still selling during the holiday season.
Thursday November 12 – Time to order your client and vendor gifts! Not sure what to get? Check out our list of recommended client gifts!
Week #2
Tuesday November 17 – Share a testimonial from a recent transaction on social media.
Thursday November 19 – Create a list of upcoming community holiday events and share through direct mail, email and/or social media.
Week #3
Monday November 23 – Order your holiday cards from One Step Services. We will print and mail them for you, but you’ve got to order early for timely delivery!
Tuesday November 24 – Write a handwritten note to all the clients who worked with you in 2020. Thank them for their business, ask for referrals and include a few business cards they can pass out. If you have time, you may also want to write notes to your vendors and partners.
Week #4
Tuesday December 1 – It’s Giving Tuesday! Use your social media platform to help bring awareness and fundraising for a charity you support.
Thursday December 3 – Share a just listed or just sold property through direct mail, email and/or social media.
Week #5
Tuesday December 8 – Create a video. It can be a tour of a house you have listed, a video of a local community event, or a talking head of you explaining a real estate term or process.
Thursday December 10 – Take time to reach out to 12 past clients via text or phone call. Let them know your thinking of them this holiday season.
Week #6
Tuesday December 15 – Start working on your “Sold in 2020” marketing piece. Although this won’t mail until January, it’s good to get started on it now, especially if you sold a lot this year!
Thursday December 17 – Order “Happy New Year” postcards and/or calendars. These are great pieces to mail out any time in January.
